Claus Sonberg is partner in Zynk, with responsibility for several of Zynks largest customers. He mainly works with strategy and change processes, advising managers and senior managers, and crises management, he is also in charge of advising and training 100 executives in corporate communication in one of Norway’s largest corporations. Sonberg was consultant and press contact for the July 22nd commission after the terrorist attack in Oslo and at Utøya in 2011. In the autumn of 2010 Claus Sonberg initiated the start-up of Zynk.
Claus Sonberg has extensive experience within management and communication as former EVP Corporate Communication and senior manager in SAS, and as consultant and CEO at Burson-Marstellet Norway and the Nordic region. During his time in the corporate management group at SAS, Sonberg was in charge of the communication and investor relations (IR) through one of the most turbulent times and largest change processes in the company’s history. In this period SAS strengthened its competitiveness through decreasing the costs with more than five billion NOK, while at the same time increasing the customer satisfaction and operational quality. Also completed in the same period was two issuing’s and reduction of the organisational complexity through selling the shares in the subsidiaries Spanair, British Midland, and AirBaltic. Claus Sonberg was the first recipient of the information concerning the tragic Spanair accident where 154 people lost their life’s, and handled all communication in relation to this. He has also been advising in a number of other small and large scale crises, including serious accidents, reputation related crises and corruption.
Claus Sonberg has studies Political Science and journalism at the University of Oslo and Indiana University in the USA.
